Pixar short films area great way to introduce and teach a range of topics.
They carry underlying messages, and in this film about a young Sandpiper we see ideas around bravery, creativity, persistence and how birds live at the beach with searching for food, living as a flock and interacting with other creatures.
This film can be used independently or can compliment a wider activity into studies into the environment, survival, birds and also resilience and adversity.
There is a range of fun literacy activity which are highly visual to cater for all learning needs. This includes Including cloze passage comprehension, first to last order, crossword, lots of coloured pictures, short sentence writing and the ability to add and remove sections that suit the needs of your students. In addition there is an extension activity for students who need additional work.
Please find in this resource a complete unit of 10 lessons that could span a whole term.
There are a range of PowerPoint presentations that are to be used in conjunction with worksheets and assessments.
There are a range of activities to support different styles of learning and a full unit description as well outlining how each lesson should be presented. Most lessons also include WALT and WILF to assist with Assessment for Learning strategies.
